Growing up with a college professor dad and a mother who taught school, it was quite natural that I played school teacher all the time as a child. Heading off to Covenant College with plans to earn a teaching degree was no surprise to those who knew me well.
From my first Christian School classroom experience I knew I had found my calling. That was just the beginning of a life filled with many and varied opportunities of teaching that have brought me much satisfaction and fulfillment. The greatest joy came through homeschooling our four children, which lead to a home school business that allowed me to develop in many educational areas, including teaching workshops to moms on many aspects of learning. My last 25 years have included teaching groups of homeschoolers, private tutoring and directing and teaching at a church homeschool school, teaching Sunday school, VBS, and women's Bible studies.
I am excited to have the opportunity to work alongside homeschooling families again. My desire is to view each student as created and gifted in God's image. Through my teaching I hope to foster a love of reading and learning, critical thinking, and the ability to study everything through a Biblical lens.
I enjoy reading, knitting, visiting grandchildren, mentoring younger women from church, sewing, and having people over for fun, food and fellowship.
